About Rugby Tourism

Rugby Tourism was set up in 1981 and its influence has grown steadily in the intervening years.  It is an umbrella organisation looking after the commercial interests of its members, providing a superb service and listening for yet more improvements in what it has to offer.

Its Members consist of hotels, bed & breakfast establishments, restaurants and cafés, attractions, retail outlets, other businesses and interested individuals in the Borough of Rugby, situated in Warwickshire in the Heart of England.

The Aims and Objectives of Rugby Tourism are to:

  • to represent the members and their interests;

  • to support the members;

  • to co-operate in promoting the Rugby area within the United Kingdom and overseas;

  • to co-operate in schemes designed to attract tourists.

  • offer discounted advertising rates in all our publications

  • give your business a free entry on the Rugby Tourism website, including a link to your own website, if you have one

  • promote your business through visual displays and interactive units at national exhibitions

  • help you to identify areas of growth and how to reach target markets – the conference trade, the overseas visitor, the weekend guest, the party bookings

  • create customised courses for your staff, tailored to their needs at times and costs to suit you, and at discounted rates

  • provide information through regular newsletters and meetings on all issues relating to tourism in Rugby, including liaison with the Borough Tourism Officer

  • generate initiatives in the devising of publications targeted at individual markets

  • advise you about leaflet distribution in both directions, so that you have plenty of leaflets for your visitors and facilitating the wide availability of your own promotional material

  • provide specific advice and assistance via our Administrator

  • provide liaison with the Heart of England Tourist Board on issues relating to tourism nationally

  • give you an Annual Membership Certificate and Membership sticker

  • give you a free events listing on our website and in our newsletter

  • provide networking opportunities with other members, committee members, and Members and senior Officers of Rugby Borough Council through various social events

  • provide a liaison committee member for all sectors of the membership

  • provide a strong voice for all tourism issues to Rugby Borough Council

  • channel our input into Rugby Borough Council’s annual Economic development Strategy, and input into the annual budget for tourism in the Borough of Rugby
