Help with preparing - guests with visual problems
Here are some more
suggestions from the English Tourism Council, to help improve customer care
towards those with disabilities. On this page, we concentrate in particular
on those with visual problems:
-
When reviewing
signage, incorporate clear typeface, contrasting colours and ensure that
it is well lit but non-reflective
-
Use large print guest
information and registration forms
-
Ensure all steps are
distinguishable through contrasting brightness
-
When decorating,
ensure that door surrounds are in contrast with the wall and door, with
contrasting door furniture
-
Avoid an ‘all white’
finish in bathrooms and public toilets, e.g. supply coloured towels
-
Use coloured glassware
and water jugs and make sure that glass doors or other large glazed areas
are identified with coloured stickers
